5th Annual China US Symposium 2012: Impact of Leadership Transitions on China US Relations

The China-US Symposium is an education initiative that aims to explore and discuss the future of international relations between these two great nations. It is led by Tufts undergraduate students from all fields, and graduate students from the Fletcher School, with the support of The Institute for Global Leadership, ALLIES, and Global China Connection.
The 5th Annual China-US Symposium will take place on March 9-10, 2012.
This year, we explore how the 2012 leadership transitions in China and the United States will affect their economic, security, legal, and diplomatic relations and interests. Last year, over 100 students, faculty, and professionals attended five panels, by 25 speakers from various prominent academic institutions, government, military, think tanks, and other organizations in both countries. Past panel topics include military and regional diplomacy, cyber defense, space technology, economic relations, sea power, and human rights.
This year's symposium is broken into four panels: Military Security, Diplomacy, Negotiation and Dispute Resolution, Economics and Business, and Law Development and Environment.
The symposium is marked by the David Rawson Memorial Lecture, in honor of former Tufts graduate David Rawson. Past lectures included Retired Rear Admiral Eric McVadon and Ambassador J. Stapleton Roy.
