The photo has already become iconic - senior members of the Obama Administration national security team gathered in the White House Situation Room, eyes fixated on the unfolding raid against Osama Bin Laden's compound.

While most of those in the room are well-known by the public and within the Administration there has been much blog discussion and speculation about a certain "mystery woman" peering from the back of the room.  She is well known to us as Audrey Tomason, a stellar student (J'99) and member of the Institute's 1997 EPIIC Colloquium on "The Future of Democracy."

We are very proud of Audrey and congratulate her on her current extraordinary public service as the Director of Counter-Terrorism at the National Security Council,  Her intellect and promise were plainly evident during her time at Tufts and with the Institute.  Here is a link to her introducing Noam Chomsky's C-SPAN lecture on Madisonian Democracy as a sophomore member of the 1997 EPIIC Symposium.

Audrey will be interacting with the Institute in the context of next year's EPIIC Colloquium on "Confronting Conflict in the 21st Century."
