BUILD Trip to Santa Anita la Union

Over Spring Break, four members of the BUILD Exec Team will accompany a new group of nine BUILD students to Santa Anita. The new team will be conducting research on a variety of topics, including the guerrilla reintegration process, racism and civil society, and rule of law in post-war Guatemala. As the new team familiarizes themselves with the people and places of Santa Anita, the members of the Team will work towards the completion of the 2009 Community Development Plan (CDP) with the junta directiva (board of directors) of the cooperative. During the trip the Exec Team also hopes to continue talks with FUNDAP, a Quetzaltenango-based microenterprise NGO that is facilitating many of the BUILD-designed training programs for the community over the next year.
