Jennifer Ahlfeldt recently moved to the southwestern U.S. to join the faculty of the College of Fine Arts at The University of New Mexico where she is Assistant Professor of the Art and Architecture of the Ancient Americas. She is currently working on a book titled: Traditions, Technologies, and Tourism: The Future of the Ancient Americas. Previously, she conducted her field research on conservation and analysis of ancient Maya Architecture at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Copan, Honduras. (Updated 10/2006)

Ara Azad has been invited to exhibit his art in such cities as Berlin, Florence, Beirut and Boston in recent years. Check out his website. He resides in the USA and traveled to Beirut periodically to lecture at local universities, such as the Lebanese University, Academy Libanaise des Beaux-arts, and the St. Esprit University, Kaslik where he was a visiting artist/lecturer for the year 2002. He consults with US hi-tech (IT and Environmental Tech) companies that are looking to establish their branch offices or subsidiaries in Japan. Oren and his wife, Reiko Kita, celebrated their one-year anniversary in April 2004.

Tanya Haddad has received a Fellowship with the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Agency in Oregon for a year.

Christopher "Blade" Kotelly is the Creative Director of Interface Designs for Speechworks International in Boston; he will be giving the keynote address at the 2001 IEEE workshop on Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding in Italy in December.

Sean Love has left Internews as the Azerbaijan Bureau Chief and is now pursuing an MBA at the Yale University School of Management. He married Julie Wyatt in May 2006. (Updated 10/2006)

Dacia Viejo began a PhD program at Cambridge University in October 2005. She completed her MA in Museum and Gallery management in London, writing her thesis on the role of cultural organizations in a post-conflict environment, and concentrating on the ex-Yugoslavia. (Updated 9/2006)

Matej Vipotnik, in 1996, Mr. Vipotnik researched the war-time destruction of the Bosnian National Library in Sarajevo. He gathered primary sources and first-hand accounts of war crimes and submitted his evidence to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague. It was eventually included in the indictments against Slobodan Milosevic. After graduation, Mr. Vipotnik spent three years as a foreign correspondent for the Financial Times in the former Soviet Union and Scandinavia and is now involved with several early stage financial software businesses.
