She attended Columbia Journalism School for an MS in Journalism. She went on to be a staff editor at The Atlantic Monthly and then became a freelance writer. Sheryl Kalis had a baby girl June 30, 2002. After working for Starwood Hotels managing partner marketing and relationships, she is now at home with her two children.

Jill Krevlin Edinburg has worked as a recycling and waste management consultant in NYC for the past seven years. Prior to living in NY, she was in San Francisco where she worked for an independent filmmaker producing documentaries on environmental issues.

Sarah Mermin is currently living in Boston after spending 10 months traveling to developing countries with her husband, Jan. She received her master's in social work and multi-ethnic practice and is a therapist/social worker, a yoga teacher and a community activist. She and her husband are expecting a child in July.

Mark Rozanski is an Investment Officer in the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Global Financial Markets Group -- with the commercial bank financing and microfinance practices. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group -- it is the group's private-sector investment and advisory services arm. He ran the Boston Marathon in 2003.

Gail Schechter is the executive director of the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs, a fair housing agency. Interfaith received the 2003 Community Service Award from the Evanston/North Shore NAACP. She's also on the board of directors of the Statewide Housing Action Coalition (SHAC). During the spring of 2002, she completed a study for the Brookings Institution, under a sub-contract with the Center for Neighborhood Technology, of a history of land reform in Chicago, part of a national study of urban areas and land use. Pip Wood was recently working as the UN Spokesperson in Dili, East Timor, and is planning to return to the UN in November or December of 2002. He and wife Liz have a daughter born in December of 2002.
