Day 1: Wednesday May 26
- Arrive in Tehran.
- Transfer to Hotel Laleh.
- Meet with Dr. Islami at School of International Relations.
- Niavaran Museum and Saad Abad Palace with SIR students
- Dinner at top of Park Jamshidiyeh (a Kurdish Restaurant with the
amazing views)
- Overnight Tehran
Day 2: Thursday May 27
- Carpet Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art
- Lunch at BOOF Hamburger Joint
- Flight to Shiraz at 3:15 pm
- Arrive Pars Hotel in Shiraz
- Night go to Hafezieh for Faloudeh
- Traditional Inn for Dinner
- Overnight Shiraz
Day 3: Friday May 28
- Persepolis ALL DAY!!!
- Visit Saadieh and Naranjestan (the palace)
- Flight to Isfahan at Night
- Arrival at Hotel Kowsar
Day 4: Saturday May 29
- Chehelsotoun Palace
- Naghshe Jahan Square
- Ali Qapou Palace
- Imam and Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque
- Carpet Shopping
- Coppersmith Bazaar
- Tea at Traditional Tea House right in Naghshe Jahan Square
- Dinner at Armenian Restaurant
- Night Visit to Sio Se Pol Bridge
- Tea House under the Bridge
Day 5: Sunday May 30
- Visit to Vank Cathedral
- Full Day Tour on Bus from Isfahan to Tehran
- Go towards Natanz (Meet man who makes Limestone Pottery)
- Lunch in Abyaneh
- Visit Village
- Go to Fin Gardens in Kashan
- Visit Khomeini's Shrine
- Arrive at night in Tehran
Day 6: Monday May 31
- Morning Meeting with Mr. Mohammad Fazelly (Sociology Professor)
- Lunch at Hotel
- Afternoon meeting in Qom with Mofid University.
- Discussion led by Ayatollah Elhami
- Late Night Visit to Beheshte Zahra (Cemetery)
- Remain at Hotel Kowsar
Day 7: Tuesday June 1
- Morning visit to Iranian Archaeological Museum and the Islamic Museum
- Go to Meeting with Arash Abaee Head of the Tehran-Jewish Magazine.
Meeting in Yousefabad Synagogue
- Dinner at Ali Qapu Traditional Restaurant (with the Musicians)
Day 8: Wednesday June 2
- First Dialogue Session with SIR faculty and Students
- Afternoon meeting with Mr. Lyons from UNDP in Tehran
- Traditional Ice Cream
- Dinner at my aunt's house
Day 9: Thursday June 3
- This was the day of remembrance for the Ayatollah Khomeini
- Trip to the Kooh (Mountains) with Vahid, Mohsen and the entire Iranian
Mountain Climbing Society
- Afternoon meeting with engineering and MBA students in the Hotel
- Dinner at my uncle's house
Day 10: Friday June 4
- Jason, Matt and Tom engage in cultural exchange (with Vahid and Mohsen
and chaperoned by Sepantah and Amir Hussayn)
- Meet with artist Minoo Emami to discuss her work, which is focused
on the loss of her husband's leg during the Iran-Iraq War
- Dinner at Sara's father's house
Rachel meets with Jewish families for Shabbat
Day 12: Saturday June 5
- Early Morning meeting with Reformist politician and son of a mullah
- Morning meeting with traditional musical composer Mohammad Sarir
- Lunch at SIR
- Discussion with SIR
- Shopping in Vali-Asr Street
- Dinner at Restaurant Sonati in Tehran
Day 13: Sunday June 6
- Meeting and Lunch with Academy Award nominated director Majid Majidi
- Jason meets with Monireh Bassir, head of the UNFPA (UN Population
Fund) who discussed Family Planning and AIDS in Iran
- Afternoon meeting at SIR with the head of the IOM in Iran
- Farewell Dinner with SIR
Day 14: Monday June 7
